The process begins; by having a personalised meeting.
Together with the designer; Meropi, you discuss your individual style. Your needs, your wants..even your hates!
With you aesthetic in mind Meropi begins sketching and come the next meeting these will be presented to you. Together again with the designer you will sit and discuss the sketches to best find what you prefer and best suits your body. Fabric samples can be shown to help you visually understand the design path that you dress will take! This second meeting will help both you and the designer fully grasp what you want out of that special dress, and take those incredible ideas out of your mind and onto paper!
Once the final design is confirmed, we begin the toile making stage. This is a “mock dress” that is sewn together with draft fabrics to best represent the gowns’ silhouette and style. This is your first fitting! Here the designer will fit the toile to your body, this is also an opportunity to adjust any design features that perhaps looked better on paper than on your body.
When the toile is complete and you are happy with the progress of the dress, you either have the choice of selecting your own fabric and supplying it in the correct meterage or have the team source you fabric from the samples you may have been shown.
Creating the full garment can take 4-6 months depending on the style, appliqué and notions required in each gown. During the making stages you will be kept informed and as each major design feature is almost at completion you may be called in for fittings to have the dress fitted again, design features checked over. You will have the option always to confirm or change if something isn't right!
